MOTIVATIONAL FACTORS OF TEACHING UKRAINIAN EDITING TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Background. With the variety of language norms in Ukrainian, school faces a challenging task teaching students how to master effective text creation. The skill is built when schoolchildren are already aware motives actions and operations they carry out with text: comprehension, oral written production, transformation, editing. However, curriculum Ukrainian envisages editing as an additional activity targeted at applying knowledge learned course production. Purpose: aim article determine analyze motivational factors for development competence high their use basis block organization 10th 11th graders secondary learning norms. Methodology. study was conducted November-December 2022; participants were 10th- grade (n=25) 11th- (n=24) specialist philology-oriented № 98 Kyiv. survey included short answer, which mandatory all students, extended optional answer (feedback) could be provided by schoolers who demonstrated persistent cognitive interest various aspects well research framework designed authors article; its implementation involved consulting assisting four literature teachers above-mentioned school: them professionals 9-16 years experience instructed advance. Results discussion. compared items AMS-28 scale (Vallerand, Blais) confirmed significance considering process students. Additionally, this feedback has enabled designing exercises tasks include developing skills supposed mastered result analysis techniques. Despite positive results research, further studies needed examine training scenarios individual techniques (comparison textual variations, dictionary analysis, transformations, error correction) determination that influence building specific purposes (translation, creative writing, oratorical skills).
